Girls season comes to an End

The New Ulm Girls Basketball team has been spectacular this year. For the first time in 30 years, the girls basketball team has won a conference title. New Ulm played against Waseca in their final section game on Thursday, March 9th. The game started with the Eagles leading until the end of the first half, which ended with a 3-point basket from senior, Emma Bute. The Eagles started strong in the second half, but started to fall short on some shots, which ended up costing them the game. The news team got to talk to Meleah Reinhart after the game. “We are thankful we made it this far and we would like to thank our coaches, parents, and all the fans for not giving up on us during our worst times,” said Reinhart. “I will miss the girls basketball program, it has taught me so much and I am very thankful for all my teammates and their support. What helped us the most was how we kept our differences afar and played like a good team should. I can’t wait to play college ball, but the Eagles will always be in my heart and I will definitely come back next year to watch them play.” The team will be losing 6 seniors next year, but they hope they can keep the winning streak going.
