Eagle baseball has some new faces leading the team.

New head coach Mike Anderson has some coaching history, including helping guide the Mankato West Scarlets to a state runner-up appearance in 2021 .

The team may need the new look, as they went 4-14 last year. There are three new coaches on the staff: the new head coach Mike Anderson, assistant coach Paul Wyczawski, and pitching coach Nick LaPorta. Along with these three, a couple of coaches are back from last year. Those are JT Hoffman and Andrew Petters.

How things are being run this year in practice differs entirely from last year. “Practice should be when we get better and when we should be able to coach you,” said head coach Mike Anderson. “During the game, we should not have to coach you; that should be done during practice,” said assistant coach Paul Wycawski.

The Eagles are trying to forget last season, as it was one of the worst in school history. “It is a new season, with new coaches, new players, and different teams on the schedule,” said sophomore Zach Hubbard.

The Eagles see this season as a learning one but hopefully can put the program on the right track for the upcoming years.
