Senior Ethan Lieb has chosen to attend the University of Jamestown in North Dakota as a kicker and punter with the football team, and doing high jump with the track team. Lieb will also pursue an education in physical therapy, something he says helped make his decision. “The physical therapy department just felt like a good vibe, and I really enjoyed campus in general,” said Lieb. He also looked at St. Olaf, Gustavus, Dakota State, and Minnesota State.

Being in football since a young age, he has always enjoyed kicking sports, like soccer and Tae Kwon Do which he had done for a decade. To help develop his kicking skills to this high level, he has attended many kicking camps. He has worked with many coaches at different schools and former Minnesota Gopher kicker Emmit Carpenter. He also owes his strength development to New Ulm head football coach and physical education teacher Derek Lieser.

Lieb now becomes another Eagle this year leaving the nest to be a Jimmie. Senior Daviney Dreckman will play Women’s Basketball and senior Nate Firle will play Men’s Basketball, both at the University of Jamestown. Last year, 2023 graduate Leo Waloch decided to play soccer in Jamestown.

The question now stands: Has the pipeline been established, and who is next?
