Cell Phone havoc

Due to the misuse of privilege at New Ulm High School, the cell phone policy has been altered to prohibit the use of cell phones during open hours. The cell phone policy at New Ulm High School was revised beginning with the 2023-2024 school year.

The initial reason for the policy alteration was due to the distractions within the learning environment, including phones and earbuds. The policy change was made due to the difficulties in distinguishing who may or may not be in an open hour.

“While you are in the building, focus on your education and focus on people within the room and have social relationships with the people around you rather than people on your phone,” Assistant Principal Troy Guentzel said.
