Changes are coming to the New Ulm area, and Superintendent Koster is a big one. Starting as a language arts teacher in Robbinsdale, MN, Koster has come a long way from teaching youth. He was originally the superintendent of Beacon Academy for 14 years, and out of his many decisions, he decided he wanted to move to a small town so he felt closer to home. Despite it being stationed in Minneapolis, it was a much smaller area than here. Kosters’ goal for NUPS is to make communication a norm. He wants to have everyone know that he will be there for them if they have any questions or concerns, students or staff. “No significant learning happens without a significant relationship, ” Mr. Koster said when asked for a quote that inspired him.
