Pep Fest for Winter Sports Activities

On Tuesday, there was a pep fest held in the gym to congratulate the winter sports activities on a great season. First, gymnastics head coach Kortney Peterson talked about their season, and congratulated Ellie Hohensee, Molly Klimek, and Sarah Longtin on being named All-Conference for the Big South Conference. The microphone was then passed to the girls’ basketball head coach Dan Reinhart. He took time to congratulate all of the winter sport activities on their successful seasons, and stated he was looking forward to everyone coming out for the first round of section play for the team. Boys basketball head coach Adam Tyhurst stated that he was proud of his team for the improvements that they have made, and that they have doubled their win record from last year from four to eight. Last to speak was head wrestling coach John Rieser. He first talked about the team and how they made it to the second round of sections. He then brought down individuals who did well at the section tournament over the weekend. Jackson Bode (106), Carter Brandes (113), and Colby Wenniger (220) all took sixth place. Cole Ranweiler (120) took fifth place. Ryan Wacker (126), and Tanner Stark (152) took second place. Sean Howk (132), and Hunter Ranweiler (138) took first place. Wacker, Stark, Howk, and Ranweiler all qualified for state for their first and second place finishes in the section tournament.
