Students at NUHS get cozied up in their camo gear to stay warm on Friday to help cheer on the Football team at their last regular season home game.
Despite the weather, The rain did not stop the Eagles from securing the W for the night as they defeated Jordan 22-12 for their 5th win of the season, improving their record to 5-2.
The weather also did not stop the fans from attending the game. Some senior fans, Gracie Linbo, Brooklyn Hagberg, and Mya Hames, were a part of the immense student section that night.
“It was a chilly night, but I’m just glad we suited up in da camo and got rowdy,” said Gracie Linbo. Getting rowdy was an understatement for Linbo herself; she knew she had to take things into her own hands when things started to die down, so she started up some chants to get things rolling.
Brooklyn Hagberg was all for that; she stated: “She enjoys reminiscing over this game as the squadron theme was top notch and the cheering got louder and louder as the night went on.” Hagberg also said it is her senior year; she cherishes every last bit.
Not only were the senior fans cherishing some of their last high school sporting events, but the football team was also celebrating more than the win – they were cherishing the fact they hadn’t beaten Jordan in the past 11 tries, which gave this game extra significance.
