Sports. It brings people together with one common denominator and connects them with great memories. Tennis is no exception, and we come to the concluding chapter of the high school girls’ tennis season and congratulate them on their accomplishments.

Although the New Ulm Girls Tennis team of 2023 had a far-from-perfect record, they still showed up to every meet and match despite the weather and injuries. Overall, they had 14 losses and four wins, but they still had a fired-up attitude toward every meet, especially with coaches Engeldinger and Wuestenberg, who are proudly called Coach E and Coach W.

“The coaches and the team were so supportive that everyone felt included as a part of something bigger,” Morgan Hauenstein, a first-year tennis player, said. Whether the frequent food stops the team would make after long meets or the camaraderie, the team came together to perform and have fun. So, we all look forward to the following year’s team and expect plenty of new additions.
