The New Ulm Eagles Football team started out strong, beginning the season 2-0. They shut down Belle Plaine with their first game of the season winning 41-6, and really showed up for their first home game of the season against Albert Lea 28-16. “We are planning to take each week one game at a time. Football is unique in that you only get one opportunity a week to play, so you have to make the most of it,” Mr. Lieser said. Compared to a 2-7 record during the 2022-23 season along with struggling past years, they have high hopes in having a better winning record and hopes to host a home playoff game for the first time in over two decades.
