The new FFA officers take the stage for the first meeting

The New Ulm FFA chapter held its first meeting of the year on Tuesday, September 19 in the auditorium at the high school. During the meeting, the new officers of the 2023-2024 chapter talked about many different topics and what new members may expect. One of the bigger topics of the meeting was the upcoming corn drive. The corn drive is a big fundraiser where students in FFA all across the state go out for one day to collect corn and or donations from farmers or those who want to donate. All the proceeds from the corn drive will go to Camp True Friends which is a camp that helps those with disabilities. The New Ulm chapter has been participating in the corn drive for many years. In the previous two years, New Ulm has been the highest earner in the state. When asked about the first meeting of the year, Senior and FFA Vice President Claire Hoffmann said, “I think it went well. We had a great turnout and many new members, which our officer team is proud to represent and guide.”
