Prepping for prom

Prom is a tradition every year for juniors, seniors, and sometimes sophomores. This year’s 2026 prom has a theme of Paris.

She has spent close to $1,000 on her dress, sign-ups, shoes, makeup, hair, tan, and alterations.

This is Ava’s second year going to prom. This year, she decided to just go with a friend.

“I’m most excited for the dance after the grand march,” said Ava.

As everyone else would be, she’s also scared about tripping and falling during the grand march.

Madi took a different route and spent only around $300 on prom this year. “I only spent money on my dress and alterations; the rest I’m borrowing from friends and family”.

Like last year, Madi has also decided to go with friends this year. “I think it’ll be more fun going with friends rather than having a date.”

She’s most excited to get ready with her friends, then go take pictures with friends and family.

Madi talks about how she’s worried that this year’s prom is going to be boring because she feels everything was planned at the last minute.
