The opportunity of two large roles arose, and without hesitation, Ryan Johnson ‘Puffed’ up to take them.
The NUHS students performed the Harry Potter-inspired play ‘Puffs,’ with Ryan playing the big roles of Cedric Diggory and Voldemort.

He has been in theater for two years now, but this play was his first time taking the stage in a big way. “I did last year’s play, and then this years one act earlier, which went to sectionals. So that was awesome. But this was my first big-time role,” Ryan said.
Not only was it a great experience for Ryan and the rest of the cast, but the crowd loved it too. Especially big-time Harry Potter fan, KayLee Evans. She has watched the Harry Potter movies over and over again, claiming them her comfort movies, and had nothing but good things to say after watching ‘Puffs’.
The play was solely focused on the HufflePuffs, making it unique.
“I like that they didn’t focus on the Gryffindors, and they focus more on the Hufflepuffs, because we don’t hear much about them in the movies, or the books,” KayLee said.
The seniors had their final bow with this show and left a great mark. They had an opening night that drew a great crowd to watch and support, and kept the audience laughing in every scene.
“I think the seniors did amazing. It was a perfect way for them to end their theater careers, and they had a great show,” KayLee said.
Although just because they are graduating does not mean their time on stage is over. After this performance, Ryan is considering pursuing theater in college, and I am sure the same goes for the rest of our seniors.
