Commercial cooking class makes Hawaiian pineapple pork
A taste of the tropics

On Thursday, March 19th, Ms. Schneider’s commercial cooking class makes a Hawaiian pineapple pork recipe with some rice.

Anthony Bergevin said he really likes taking cooking classes because they help improve his basic cooking skills and get support from his classmates, which encourages him.

Brogan Hulke (left), Simone Torres (middle), and Anthony Bergevin (right) are prepping the pork, onions, and peppers before lab day. On lab day, Simone Torres made the rice while the others cooked the pork and sauce. The pork had to be cooked evenly and to a certain temperature, or it would be underdone.

Brogan Hulke said, “I learned how to cook pork chops on the stove.” She encourages students to take this class to build on their basic skills.

Brogan was also asked what she would rate the recipe, and she said, “A seven, ‘cause I don’t like canned pineapple.”

Then the food was distributed evenly and was taken by every classmate.
