7th hour Intro to Foods class with Mrs. Trahms participated in a hash brown-making lab on Wednesday, where students made hash browns from scratch, washing, peeling, and grating potatoes.

“The peeling of the potatoes wasn’t fun, but overall the rest of the lab was pretty fun,” NUHS Junior Braylon Hoel said.

“The overall cooking was way less complicated than what I thought it was gonna be,” Junior Jett Volk said.

This is a picture of what one lab group’s hash browns looked like.

The intro to foods class participates in a lab about once a week, which keeps the class fun and also educational. Even when students aren’t out in the kitchen cooking Trahms does a very good job of keeping everyone occupied by making fun and useful assignments.
