In the midst of the second semester, the spring play starts to begin leaving one question. Who will build the set? With the former set builder, Kevin Maudal, stepping down, the position was open to the public.
2024 alumni Nick Vigil rose to the challenge, switching roles from stage actor to set-builder. As the show is set to perform in mid-April, Nick has been working hard to get this set finished.

“It’s been a strange experience,” Nick said, “things have changed a lot.” According to Nick, it is almost entirely a new cast and crew since he graduated.
With the play being a parody of Harry Potter called Puffs, people in the cast and crew are big fans, including Nick Vigil. “I am very familiar with the world of Harry Potter,” Nick said. “If I had to choose, I’d be a Slytherin.”
Nick is very excited to get this set completed, as he loves building projects. Nick Vigil also has experience building haunted houses at the New Ulm Fairgrounds and designs and builds things for Scream Town up in Chaska, Minnesota, during the summer. He also took part in building the set for his junior musical “The Addams Family”.
When the show performs on April 17 and 18, it will truly be exciting to see what Nick was able to cook up.
