Throughout the first week of February, New Ulm High School held a food drive that allowed all students to make donations. Of course, students want to give back to the community, but other incentives also encouraged students to donate. For each canned good that a student brings, they have one vote towards a teacher they want to see in a foot costume. On top of this, students can donate money to their first hour class, and whatever class has the most money at the end of the week is rewarded with donuts. Student council representative Mr. Mans said, “We think it’s good for our school to connect with the community, and the food shelf is a good way to do that.”
