The New Ulm boys team didn’t have a holiday tournament this year, so they decided to stay the night in Fergus Falls after playing River Lakes Friday night. The boys’ team played River Lakes on December 12 and then played Fergus Falls on December 13.

The River Lakes game didn’t end the way they wanted it to. They fell short, losing 5-3.
“I didn’t play my best game, but it didn’t help that we had a long bus ride with a bad heater, so we all were freezing,” Blaine Arneson said.
After the game, we went to eat and then headed for Fergus Falls.
The team arrived at the hotel at 1:30 a.m. They were staying at a hotel 8. Everyone showered and was off to bed because they had to be up at 8 in the morning for team breakfast. In the morning, everyone hopped on the bus and was off for breakfast.

After breakfast, we loaded up the bus with our bags and headed for the arena. The Fergus Falls game ultimately ended the way they wanted, with a 3-2 win in overtime.
Hunter Larson scored the game-winner and was pumped up.
“They were a good team, but we fought with them and won it,” Hunter Larson said.
“I played a really good game and let in 2 hard goals to save, but we outplayed them, and my team had my back,” Colton Anderson said.
After the game, we loaded up the bus to head back home. On the way home, we stopped at a Holiday in Alexandria to use the bathroom and get snacks for the rest of the ride home. The team finally arrived home at 9:00 p.m.
