The New Ulm FCCLA chapter has grown significantly, with 41 members this year, almost three times as many as in 2024.
FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) “aims to promote personal growth and leadership development through Family and Consumer Sciences education among students across America,” according to their website.
Mrs. Schneider, who has been teaching for the past 5 years, took over as the chapter adviser this year.
“My favorite part? I think it’s just when we actually get to, like, do the community stuff, like planning,” Schneider said. “It is really stressful, but people are so willing to sign up for it. So then, when we actually get to do the things, that’s when it’s really, really fun.”
“Santa’s closet is our next big thing,” Schneider said. Santa’s closet has been one of the biggest fundraisers for FCCLA every year.
