Brody Nordby played junior hockey for the Hudson Havoc this fall. He tried out for many teams but finally found a spot on the Hudson Havoc, which is based on the border of Wisconsin.

What is junior hockey? Junior hockey is a level of hockey that is for players typically aged 16 to 21. It serves as a high-level development step before you go play college hockey. Most kids who play junior hockey will receive offers from college teams.

Brody’s team, the Havoc, has a record of 3 wins and 7 losses; they may not have been winning that many games. “It was a fun time, good experience, and something new,” Brody said. Playing for the Havoc also prepared him and put him in shape for the high school season, which starts on November 10th.

I got to go up to Hudson and watch one of his games, and it was a fast-paced hockey game. The havoc looked like a good team to play for, and so did the other team, even though the havoc won 8-2.

After their game last Friday, Brody drove back from Hudson to New Ulm. He came back to play hockey for the New Ulm high school hockey team. “I am excited to see my friends and get the high school season underway,” Brody said.

Brody can still play hockey for New Ulm and for the Havoc because he is taking online classes for New Ulm High School. So Brody is still part of the New Ulm High School, but just does not come to school.
