Over the past few weeks, senior Brody Theis has been driving his new Mazda 3 to school. Brody drove four hours to pick up his new car. “The drive there felt like it took forever. I just wanted to see the car and test drive it.”
After Brody got back to New Ulm with the car, he didn’t wait a second to start showing off his new, cool car to all his friends. “I love it. It’s great. I just bought it after saving up all my money. I need it. It’s fun to me.”
Brody bought the car with some modifications, including an intake, a bigger turbo, an intercooler, and a tune.
Brody has loved Mazda ever since his first car, a Mazda 6. He has always wanted another Mazda ever since he crashed and totaled his old one. Brody now has two cars, the Mazda Speed 3 and his Ford Taurus, which he drives most days. “The Mazda has a bunch of stuff to make it fun. I plead the fifth. Just kidding. It’s fun to drive. It’s more of just my weekend driver; I drive my Taurus most days.”

Brody also has to learn a new skill with his car —its manual —and he is still learning how to drive. “It’s manual, so it’s engaging to drive in. It’s great for car enthusiasts. It’s a great ride.”
When Brody is not in school, he enjoys many things.
“I like to drive my car, play video games, watch things about cars, work on cars, talk to ChatGPT, and hang out with my friends.”
Right now, Brody is working at Pizza Ranch, cooking chicken, but he has bigger plans for after high school.
Brody has some good knowledge of cars that he would like to transfer over to a job. “I think maybe I want to be an electrician or a mechanic and just work on cars. When I graduate, no matter my job, I plan to build and work on cars.”
