New Ulm High School will host volleyball intramurals from October 27 to 31, from 8:00 pm to 9:00 pm, in the NUHS gymnasium. All students participating have signed up with Mr. Mans.

People signing up is solely for fun, as there is no winning prize besides bragging rights.

“It’s just something organized to do outside of school but with your peers, everyone likes to compete,” said Mr. Mans.

All students participating gather in the gymnasium to practice before playing. “Not gonna lie, I got roped into it, but I think it’s going to be fun,”  senior Ava Peterson said.

Lots of different groups of students sign up and fill the spots easily. “There are a lot of students who want to play intramural volleyball,” said Mr. Mans.

Each team has a chance to come up with a fun name for their team. Team names were Six Seven, Net Ninjas, Little Lads, Passing Gas, Sendy Spikers, Big Bad Bananas, and two teams have undecided names.

The intramurals are a good way to connect with your friends and peers. It creates competition while keeping it friendly. This is a good way to keep students connected and to add more fun activities into the boring school days.
