The CTE center was established in August 2021 because the school wanted to expand CTE education and give more opportunities to students at New Ulm High School.
The mechanics teacher, Mr. Dustin, who is in his fourth year of teaching at New Ulm, is growing the mechanics side of the CTE center. Mr. Dustin’s classes are always working on something and developing their skill in the trade.
“As long as the instructors keep doing what they’re doing and keep bringing in new technology, the possibilities are endless,” Dustin said.

Jett Volk, a junior at New Ulm, loves the classes at the CTE center. He likes the welding classes and the automotive classes.
Jett said, “These classes really helped me expand my knowledge of understanding engines and welding.”
The classes help students figure out what they want to do after high school and help them gain knowledge for their future.
