Familiar Fashions

Fashion has always been a way to express yourself and show individuality. Despite the dress code, students at NUHS have no trouble using flashy fashions to convey their personalities.

Birkenstock clogs. Lululemon. Baggy jeans. These are some of the leading fashion trends you’ll see when walking down the halls of a high school. NUHS is, like every other high school, not immune to these social media fashion trends.

With all these trends floating around, you’d think everyone would dress exactly alike, but that’s not necessarily the case. Junior Brighton Muklebust said that this plethora of trends does not diminish people’s individual styles in the slightest.

According to an article titled The Meaning of Fashion in Life, fashion is “a reflection of our identity, our culture, and our values. It is a form of self-expression, a way to communicate who we are to the world.” For students at NUHS, fashion is a way to distinguish themselves from the crowd of trends. So what are people wearing if not the trends?
