On January 25, the New Ulm figure skaters practiced for their upcoming ice show on March 2 and 3. Some of the figure skaters are from NUHS, including seniors Emily Johnson and Emmie Stangel, sophomores Calleigh Frederickson and Brandi Sandmann, and freshman Annika Wyffels.

2024 will be Emily and Emmie’s last year of figure skating; therefore, the NUFSC has created a last performance for them.

The show’s director is Katrina Berbrich, an ISI Gold Certified Judge and coach. Berbrich grew up skating in NUFSC and has had nine years of coaching experience. She also has a certification in STEM education from Minnesota State Mankato. One of Berbrich’s many students, Emily Johnson, said, “It’s a really memorable experience, and I’ve had a lot of fun over the years.”
