The past year has been challenging for many students. With the necessary safety restrictions in place for the past couple of months, it has been challenging for kids to safely meet with their friends besides when they go to school. There are very few places where students and families can join together safely and have fun at the same time.

The local movie theater has recently been a new option for teens and kids to have fun and be safe. Since its reopening in early January, the Lyric 3 has gotten many new movies that were highly anticipated since they were able to reopen. They’ve gotten movies such as “Wonder Woman 1984,” “The Croods: A New Age,” and “The Little Things.” Currently, the Lyric 3 has three new films: “Walking,” “Tom and Jerry,” and “Raya and the Last Dragon.”

Senior Allie Moline said, “The new seats are very comfortable. I go to the movies with my friends a lot.” Both she and Marley Jackson recently saw the movies “Chaos Walking” and “Raya and the Last Dragon.”

With the snow on the ground finally melting, parks are now an additional option for everyone to be safe and have fun. German park is right next to the theater and is a convenient place to stop once your film is finished and you want to stretch your legs. The walking trail goes next to multiple parks in New Ulm and is a safe option if someone would want to travel to various parks in a day.
