Look at this trash! This pile of garbage was at the River View Sanitation plant in New Ulm.

On October 13th – yes, Friday the 13th –  Mrs. Ruch’s Intro to Business class went on a field trip to the Riverview Sanitation Plant. Did you know that you can apply for a job at this establishment when you are 18 years old? Well, now you do, and they are indeed looking for help. If you are willing to get a class D license, you could be hired as a driver and go around collecting recycled goods in the RVS bins around town.

RVS has over 1000 bins around New Ulm, ranging from small trashcans to full-sized dumpsters. This business is a never ending business; there will always be waste to pick up around New Ulm, or anywhere for that matter. This industry is a very valuable thing to have in a community such as New Ulm, since landfills accept all materials, which take hundreds upon thousands of years for those items to decompose. Having an industry like this is quite beneficial since it helps us make reusable materials to never run out of resources. Remember, if you are 18 and looking for a job, give RVS a try, you might like it more than you would normally think.
