At New Ulm High School, FCCLA puts out their cookie booth to raise money to allow some of the members to go to state. This took place during the high schools’ snow week which was February 5 to February 9.

The cookie booth has been going for a long time. According to Mr.Janssen, “It started before I was an advisor, so around 20 years.”

Mr. Janssen likes having his students be a part of a bigger and better thing within the school.

February is CTE month so different organizations get a certain week dedicated to them like FCCLA week and FFA week. These both were during 4-day weeks and included dress-up days and some activities.

Two weeks after FCCLA week, which is February 20 to February 23, is FFA week where they can show what they do and get some recognition. They had a pancake breakfast for not only the high school but also for the community of New Ulm.

FCCLA member Shelby Seifert said, “I think it is really cool that each organization can celebrate what they do within this month.”

Most people did not know why we had so many things going on in the month of February, but now you do. So when someone asks, you can say that February is CTE month.
