GETTIN ‘ER DONE Jacob Radloff working hard to get his tractor ready for a fresh paint job.

If you have an Ag class you have more than likely seen a red tractor in the shop. The tractor belongs to Jacob Radloff who is doing a complete restoration on his 1951 Farmall H.  Jacob is a senior who is enrolled at NUHS, but with a busy school day how does he have enough time to work on a tractor?

When asked this question, Radloff replied, “I work on my tractor during 3rd hour. I worked it out with Mr. Bergman so I could do this instead of taking an elective class that wasn’t useful for me.”  According to Radloff, doing this independent work instead of taking an actual class does still count as a credit for him. In order to do this he said he had to approach Mr. Bergman with the idea, which he approved, “as long as I had a project to work on that would take the length of 2nd semester to do.  I also had to have a detailed layout plan of what I was all gonna be doing.”  Radloff has done a complete restoration on his tractor before so he knows what he’s getting into.

Radloff was originally supposed to get a tractor from a farmer down in Iowa who was going to pay him to do a complete restoration.  But when the farmer backed out on him, Radloff decide to give his family tractor a fresh look. He has been working hard on his tractor since the start of 2nd semester and hopes to have it done by the time he graduates.
