FFA students are tested throughout the day at South Central College in Mankato last Friday on welding, small engines, general knowledge, and electrical to earn a spot to compete at the Minnesota State convention in April. I love watching and helping the students learn and compete all day, said Brandon Beranek, current diesel technician student at South Central College.

Tuesday, January 24th, 71 of FFAs students met in the New Ulm high school autotorium for Januarys meeting. The officers talked about up coming events such as national FFA week, the national ag day parade, Hub Clubs farm show, previous CDE teams, and upcoming CDE teams. Jaden Jay said, The meeting was assembled last minute but was handled flawlessly. Many students came and signed up for the upcoming events. We are very grateful for those who are willing to participate.

FFA member attend the November meeting held in the auditorium. Past, present and future information was covered. To follow the meeting, a meal of hot dogs, burgers and chips was provided after. Once the meal was over, those brave enough participated in dodgeball.

The New Ulm Chapter FFA is collecting corn/bean donations for Camp True Friends in Annandale, Minnesota. Senior Andrew Meyer (right) said, It feels good to help collect donations for a good cause. Camp True Friends is a non-profit organization that provides different programs for those with disabilities. There were over 15 FFA groups that participated in the corn drive on  Thursday, Oct. 13!
