School Gmail is Changing

Because of hacking, the students’ passwords will be changed for their school Gmail accounts.

With our students becoming more tech savvy throughout the years, the New Ulm Public School’s staff is forced to make some changes. There have been accounts of students accessing other students Gmails.

Ms. Hoek, a face you may see in the school’s library, informed me that “as everyone knows, the school email is very hackable.” Since all students’ emails can be known, all that is needed is their birthday.

I also spoke to one of the school’s counselors, Mr. Ryan Ziemer, about the situation. He stated that “the tech team will be in charge of the changes.”

Both have told me this change will come into affect in the next few weeks. Ms. Hoek declared that “students will be called down to the commons and everyone will be assigned a new password”.
