Our theater performs a musical every fall. The current musical they are doing is called “9-5,” which is about life in the workplace.

Everett Brown has been in the theater business for a long time. So he is an expert at this point in regards to performing and understanding plays and musicals.

Everett Brown said he joined the theater in “like fifth grade, it was something my mom made me do. And then I really took a liking to it.”

Everett also says there’s some new equipment the the theater is going to utilize during this musical. “I get to fly,” he said. “I’m the first person in school to do that for theater.”

Everett describes the character he is playing, who is the main antagonist in the musical, as an “egotistical, lying boss. I think I’m above everyone else.”

Everett said to anyone who wants to join the theater: “Confidence is key. Sometimes people struggle finding it, but really, it’s not that scary.”
