Green House

The green house is looking good.

Nathan Puhlmann and AJ Lassas

Our green house is coming along very well with all sorts of new technology. The water and gas are currently in the process of getting hooked up and a few more tables need to be built in. They are debating on using hydroponic (using mineral nutrients solution in water with no soil) or aquaponic, which is a system using farmed fish waste.

The new FFA Chapter is grateful for a dedicated community/program investment of $27,000 from United Farmers cooperative and partnering corporations! Farm-City Hub Club members, Pete and Linda Neigebauer and their family, have been long time supporters of agriculture education and gave a gracious donation of $20,000 towards the purchase and installation of the greenhouse. We also want to thank Don Anderson with State Farm insurance whom kindly donated $2,500, Tim Knaak for his great donation of $1,000, and Randy Rieke with his helpful donation of $750.

This project will provide students and FFA members a platform to study agronomy, horticulture, and plant science curriculums. Future curriculum options will be added to the greenhouse facility fulfilling educational opportunities involving wind power with a wind turbine and solar power with panels. Along with this there will potentially be hydroponics, biotechnology trials, genetic, and cultivator experiments.
