Coronation is an event that New Ulm High School has been doing for years. Every Monday of Homecoming week at 7 p.m. in the New Ulm High School gymnasium, a new king and queen are crowned.
Mr. Neslon, a student council advisor, said about the Coronation set up, “Monday during first, sixth, and seventh hour was the setup and a couple of hours before Coronation to make sure everything was ready and good to go.” The student council takes setup seriously to make sure nothing goes wrong or in the wrong place and to make sure the Coronation goes well.
We do the Homecoming Coronation for the leaders of our school. “I suppose it would be to celebrate some of the students that we choose as leaders in the school and to start off our homecoming week,” Mr. Nelson said. This year’s coronation, as per all coronations, went well. “I think it did pretty well. Nothing too out of the ordinary. Nothing was – nothing happened that was wrong or anything like that. No big surprises, which was nice. And went off as we planned,” Nelson said.
And with that, here’s to a great school year and our 2025 homecoming King and Queen: Daniel Brownfield and Lauren Schmiesing!!
