On January 1, a new tennis rule change officially came into effect. The new rule states that coaches can provide advice to players throughout their match, except during the actual playing of a point. The old rule was that coaches could only talk to players when they switched sides of the court.
“I like it, but I also don’t,” assistant coach Mr. Wuestenberg said. “Some coaches kind of abuse it.”
He said some coaches go to their players too often and for a long time. Wuestenberg said, “It shouldn’t be more than 10 seconds.”
The New Ulm girls’ season has been 5-12 this year, with sections right around the corner.
