As we are only two weeks from graduation, seniors are really thinking and planning out what they are going to do as soon as the school year ends. Many may go straight to college, some may go straight into the workforce, and some may do a gap year.

Senior Avery Holgren has a plan to attend Ridgewater College in Willmar for cosmetology. When asked why she chose Ridgewater, she said, “I chose Ridgewater because it suited my needs and was closer to home than the other colleges I visited.” She said, “I will miss seeing my friends when I graduate because we will all go our separate ways.”

“I’m excited to meet new people and learn better techniques about cosmetology,” Avery said.

When asked what she will not miss about NUHS, she said, “I won’t miss leaving the school parking lot and trying to find a parking spot because there are so many students.”

One of her biggest struggles through her high school experience was getting up in the morning to come to school. Some advice she would give incoming high schoolers is “pay attention in school and don’t skip school days right away, save them for when you need them.”
