Students roar from either side of the gym in anticipation of their team scoring, and everyone holds their breath every time the ball hits the rim. This is what a NUHS pep fest is like.

On Friday, March 28, the whole school is eager with anticipation for the upcoming Pep Fest. Every class after lunch is shortened, and the absence of the bell at the end of each period is a reminder of what is approaching. Getting out early at 2:15 students were excited to gather in the gym to celebrate their school. There were announcements at the beginning as well as recognition of our athletes and other students.

Senior Dominick Christensen was called during the Pep Fest to come down and get a T-shirt. “I was kinda just in my own world when they called my name,” Dominick said.  “I don’t know what I got it for, but it’s amazing.”

Another student who was involved in the Pep Fest was Senior Nicholas Risen, who was one of the students on the basketball team who played in the scrimmage. “On my team, I was the only person who played basketball,” Nicholas said. “It was a little nerve-racking, but once you got out there it wasn’t too bad.”
