Softball season is back. Bats echoing, sunflower seeds covering the ground, kids screaming, umps yelling. The Lady Eagles are ready to take on the season.

The 2025 Softball season has officially started. They already have had 2 days of scrimmages up in Eden Prarie. They are looking forward to their first game on April 7th. The first couple of weeks in softball are always tough as the weather is still cold and they are unable to practice outside on the fields right now. Despite that, they still work hard every day in the gym.

Hitting practice, fielding practice, team bonding. Eagles Softball has lots of practice on their schedule, getting them ready for the first game of the season. “I feel really excited for this upcoming season, I feel that we are gonna do amazing as a team and will work together and push each other to do our best,” said junior Lauren Schmiesing

They do all sorts of different drills for fielding and hitting. They work on grounders and pop flys as defense is what they take pride in. Ramsey Hopp said, ” Our biggest asset is our defense; it is something that we work hard toward and take pride in.”

With the whole varsity team all returning softball players and 7 of them being seniors the Eagles softball is looking at a bright season ahead of them. “We have many returning players from last year that will help lead us through the season,” Hopp said.
