Cole Voges, a freshman, punches his ticket, moving on to the ninth-grade league state individual tournament on February 1. Voges qualified to state, taking first place at 172, going 3-0 for the day. Just a few days later Voges made his varsity debut against Martin County West at home. “I was just focused on wrestling smart and doing my normal,” said Voges. All the hard work has created a lot of success for this freshman.

New Ulm gets warmed up to take on Mankato East on Monday, Jan. 13. They look to pull off the upset against a talented, experienced team that's had their number in recent years. The two teams met in the Class 2AAA section championship a year ago where Mankato East won 67-47 in a defensive battle. In conclusion of the game, the Eagles lost 100-45 in a lights out performance from Mankato East.

The Eagle's basketball team shakes hands with Maple River after a 1st round loss in the Kwik Trip Holiday Tournament at Bethany Lutheran College. The Eagles won the tourney here last year, and ended up getting 7th place in this year's event.
