Ms. Novacek has hopped on board to coach the 2024-2025 Knowledge Bowl team at NUHS to aid in helping guide the 60+ team members to even greater heights.

Coming into NUHS for her first year, Ms. Novacek is already making haste by joining as the newest addition to the KB team. Novacek said that she was hoping to expand on her coaching experience as a teacher who is newer to the field, and KB is a great place to start, considering it’s something that both interests her and gives her practice with the larger groups.

Something more than that though, she expressed her excitement to meet and work with those she usually does not, “like the sophomores, who I won’t get to work with till next semester,” Novacek said. “So it’s nice to just get to know more people, other colleagues as well and it’s working more one on one with the students outside of the classroom too.” 

When asked if she thought she could help give the NUHS kids a sharper edge on the Geography and American Government side of things, Novacek said, “I think it’ll give you guys a nice heads up.” However, Novacek also clarified that she believes the students are the real experts, considering they are the ones participating and putting time in the activity.
