Winter sports are coming, and fall sports are coming to an end.

One sport that has ended New Ulm Eagles football, which finished with a 4-6 record. Offensive coordinator coach Rodriguez and I sat down to talk shop about what happened and what will happen next year

How well did the team overall perform this year?

I thought they did a great job executing; the players worked hard and had a lot of spirit from our seniors.

Are there any stand-out moments this year?

I think the St. Peter game was good because we were evenly matched even with the injuries, and being a rivalry game for New Ulm is always amazing to play in, and we played very well in that win against St Peter.

What areas did the team struggle?

Injuries set us back many times this year. We needed players to step up, and with the younger players being new to this, we required all players to step up, old and young.

Did the team execute overall on game days?

For the most part, we played hard with heart and passion and we went out there and executed on game days.

What will be the main focus next year?

Keep finding ways to use our explosive players, put the work in with the offseason with other sports and strength and conditioning, and get more players to come out to after-school lifts during summer practices.
