New Ulm FFA members went to Arlington Community Center October 16 to help develop leadership skills they will use in the real world and beyond.

When the members arrived, they were tasked with shaking hands with other FFA members in the community center and sharing something unique about themselves in a single word.

They proceeded with picking the tallest person present at their table to be wrapped in toilet paper. After being wrapped the individual had to walk across a stage to increase confidence in leadership.

“I thought getting wrapped in toilet paper was a fun and exciting experience; really felt I could be more comfortable with everyone in the room,” junior Adam Mages said.

The day proceeded by getting randomly drawn to work in partner activities. After working for 10 minutes, the partners had to get their work judged by other groups.

Junior Levi Kral said, “I felt getting judged and critiqued by others really increased my leadership of staying calm and collected and knowing how to brush things off more.”

Finally, the day concluded by reviewing what types of leadership they taught us. And how they expanded our opportunities in the future.
