It’s seventh hour on a Friday; students are beginning to get rowdy as the weekend draws nearer. All of a sudden, the voice of the Student Council advisor comes onto the announcements. He is here to announce who has won Purple and white Fridays this week. Classrooms fall silent as students and staff listen intently for their names.

Who will win? How does it work?

All students are put into categories by their grades in a spreadsheet generator. One student from each grade and one staff member is then picked randomly from the generator. Winners are announced every Friday during the seventh hour by the student council advisors, Mr. Nelson and Mr. Mans. If the student selected happens to be wearing purple and white on the Friday that they are selected, they may claim their prize from the Student Council advisors. Just because you have won does not mean you are now out of the running to win again.  “Students may win as many times as their name is picked,” said Mr. Mans.

When it comes to prizes, there are two options. Winners should be speedy when reporting to the pickup location, as the first person to claim their prize will win a five-dollar Kwik Trip gift card. Anyone to claim their prize after that will receive an Eagles t-shirt. The location of where to pick up the prizes is currently to be determined. However, it will most likely be in Mr. Mans’ room as Mr. Nelson is often quite busy during the seventh hour.
