Students wonder why our bathroom doors are open. There is reasoning behind it all, although it doesn’t give much privacy for students who need it, there is still suspicious activity. Junior Aidan RockVam said, “Why not punish the students who violate the rules, not all of us?”

It is a topic New Ulm High School is trying to solve to make sure our bathrooms are normal again. But if students keep up the vandalism and suspicious activity in the bathrooms, those doors will stay open.  Caiden Rose said, “I’ve gotten threatened to get sent to the office for closing the door because I want my privacy.”

Some say that going to the office for closing a door is ridiculous, but there is more to the story. Lead Custodian Mike said that the boys bathroom doors are closed due to vandalism, and girls are open for a high incidence of vaping. He also said that it looks like the plan is just to keep the doors open for good.
