Seniors in Eagle Enterprise had other plans for a warm April day. With the sun shining, the class being tedious, and the senioritis going strong, a crew of five parted ways with a mission.

Fishing.

They ventured down to Minnecon Park nearby with rods and bait. With the flick of the wrist and the cast of a bobber, rest and recreation began. However, the current long-term substitute, Mrs. Anderson, caught word of the expedition and traveled down there herself. Sadly, no fish were caught before her arrival.

The five Eagle Enterprise students were each given the option to take summer school or drop the class as their punishment. Parents were outraged over one unexcused absence resulting in exiting the class. However, the Administration argues a previous incident involving a “poker table” in a maintenance-only room led to the penalty.

“At first, I was kinda mad,” a student said. “But it was worth it.” The fishing crew is still on track to graduate later this spring, which opens the door to more outings.
