Evelyn Schaefer is one of our many seniors at New Ulm High School. With less than a month left of high school, she’s ready to move on to her future plans.
Evelyn plans to attend South Central College in North Mankato for two years and then transfer to Mankato State University.
Although she is sad to leave her friends and the memories that come with high school behind, she’s ready for the next step. Evelyn plans on going to college to study and become a social worker. “My favorite part of high school would definitely be watching all of the sports and homecoming,” said Evelyn, “and my least favorite was, of course, all of the homework.”
She is excited to meet new people and change scenery while staying close to home and family. Her senior year was full of events as New Ulm’s first princess alongside Lana Braun(Miss New Ulm) and Malorie Anderson, the second princess.
As a goodbye, a word of advice to incoming freshmen and high school students Evelyn shares is, “Don’t take the time for granted, try to keep up with the workload, and go to or involve yourself with as many school events and activities as you can.”
