It may be March, and there may still be snow on the ground, but baseball will always find a way to practice. That’s why practices are held in the smaller gymnasium while players wait for the weather to warm up. “It’s not as great as practicing outdoors, but I would much rather practice inside than not practice at all,” said senior pitcher Ayden Jensen.
This year’s competition will be tough like last year, but it shouldn’t be that hard to beat the forgettable record of 4-13 last year.
The Eagles are looking to have a much better season this year with many more seniors on the team. “Our team may not have been the greatest last year, but don’t count us out this year,” said senior Landon Barstad. This positive approach may be what this team needs to succeed and change the culture around baseball in New Ulm. The Eagles look to get their first win on April 4 in Hutchinson at 4:30 p.m.
