The NUHS boy’s tennis team has been off to a rocky start by having to practice at Vogel Recreation Center because of the courts being covered in snow and water.

Many seniors graduated from last year’s varsity team, so there are a lot of spots up for grabs. Since their first meet is on April 4, they have been practicing hard as much as they can.

The first practice was on March 27, which was at Vogel. For the future at Vogel, they are going to split up into two groups so they can practice better and have more space to play and not run into each other.

“I believe we have a real shot to go far this year in sections,” sophomore Charlie Weidman said. Charlie is going for singles this year and has a big impact on the team.

This year they have around 30 students out for tennis and it is competitive, with lots of new competition to see who gets on varsity.
