During the off-season, many athletes can find ways to stay fit and prepared for their sports, either by following directed exercise plans coordinated by instructors, lifting outside of school, or just practicing their sport.

There are many ways for athletes to stay active between the off-times of their respective sports. Samuel Ibberson prefers to spend his time after school trained by his coaches in the High School’s weight room. “I like talking about football,” said Ibberson when asked about his favorite part of after-school lifting.

A significant aspect of success during the season is what happens during the off-season, so it is essential to create bonds with your teammates and maintain strength, endurance, and flexibility. This can lead to fewer chances of becoming unnecessarily injured during practice or games, keeping players healthy and ready for competition.

Another example of off-season training would be doing it yourself at a private gym, such as Isaac Jelokov, a Snap Fitness member. “The reason I chose Fitness over other places is that most of my friends also go here, and I am able to see growth with my friends.” Isaac enjoys lifting in a private atmosphere and doing his own training.
