New Ulm Gets Eighth in State!

After Competing fiercely in Sections and placing second, the New Ulm Eagles 9th-grade wrestling team is off to state! The team right away had a very tough match-up against Foley but they came out firing and wrestled with a spark. New Ulm was on a role and pulled off the win. Then they wrestled Forest Lake, and with great team comradery, New Ulm pulled off another win. New Ulm had two tough duals next but wrestled their hearts out. After a long day of hard-fought wrestling, Head coach, Kevin Briggs said: “The kids wrestled great, but it’s like a shot in the arm, showing that the high school team can do it too.”  After all of the blood and sweat shed New Ulm finished 8th in the state!
