On Tuesday night, the girls’ basketball traveled to Marshall to play against the Marshall Tigers. The game started out in a tight race, with Marshall leading New Ulm 3-2, but that did not last long. By the half way point of the half, the Eagles’ pulled ahead of Marshall, and ended the half with a 19 point lead. The Eagles’ were able to withstand the pressure from the Tigers’ in the second half, winning the game 49-32. The win made the Eagles’ the East division conference champions in the Big South Conference for the first time since 1987. The conference championship is on Friday at 7:30 at New Ulm High School against Pipestone.
